A small Case Study to look at the application of shipping containers for use within domestic architecture.
This particular unit is comprised of 2 (nr) 40 foot High Cube Containers, seated on a simple concrete pad foundation system.
Whilst the use of shipping containers is not a new concept, it is not a highly used method of construction, and remains a novelty. The hope is to look at this method as low cost, good quality housing alternatives. Another option would be to utilise it in the realms of disaster relief, as semi – permanent to permanent housing solutions.
All drawings and renders were produced using Revit 2015.
